THE
SNOW QUEEN CD
A magical adventure told through songs, narration and poems
The Snow Queen is perhaps Hans Christian Anderson's most powerful and
moving story. In this new musical setting, songs telling the story are linked
by contemplative poems. The score reflects the Snow Queen's beguiling
allure as she charms the boy Kay to her ice palace in the frozen wastes
of the North.
But it is through the voice of his best friend - Gerda, that the central theme
of courage and determination is told. Although a story of spiritual optimism
tempered with fantasy and tragedy, it is above all a celebration of childhood;
innocence and the power of love to transcend evil and death.
