Paul K Joyce’s musical journey began in the early 1970s with a formal education in piano.
In 1983 after completing a science degree Paul secured an international recording and publishing deal with his band,
‘SENSE’. European tours with Depeche Mode and Kim Wilde followed, culminating in
1986 with the album, ‘Hold On’ and the French hit single,
‘Jamie’.

In 1989 Paul made a successful move to writing music for television and film whilst studying piano, orchestration and
composition in greater depth. He has since written and performed music for numerous television dramas, documentaries
and films for the BBC, ITV, Ch4 and Disney. In 2001 Paul received an Ivor Novello for his theme to the animated series,
.

As co-founder of Creation Productions Ltd, the site-specific theatre company, Paul has helped bring two innovative
productions to fruition. was performed in a Victorian pumping station and in 1997 the
science-fiction classic was realised in Cropwell Bishop quarry, Nottingham.
In 2003 Paul commissioned the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Voices and Juliet Stevenson to perform his ambitious,
‘The Snow Queen’ project. Recorded first as a SonyBMG CD it received its world premiere at the Barbican Hall in London
with further concerts at Cadogan Hall.
In 2004 his production company, SQ Productions secured a BBC commission for a film version of starring
Juliet Stevenson and Patrick Stewart. Paul was co-executive producer.
Since 2006 Paul has been developing a science-fiction film, as well as co-producing and writing with YES
guitarist, Steve Howe for his forthcoming solo album,.
